Ash - maybe my blog SHOULD be called "philasophia"...Perhaps "philosophia" isn't the best name anyways because it does mean "lover of Sophia"...And maybe not everyone is my lover. :) But, if I used "philasophia", would people think that I'm a lover of myself? :)
At 7:40 AM, Matt McGrath said...: Well... As I'm sure you know, your name 'Sophia' means 'wisdom'. 'Philosophia' is closer to the true meaning of 'philosophy' than philosophy is itself. However, having made it that much closer to accurate ancient Greek, you might as well go the full distance and have your adjective agree in gender with its noun, hence 'phila'! (...And then people can wonder whether you love yourself or wisdom, or indeed whether you are a modern day Athene...)
